Will the price change at the end of the first year?
Most likely, yes. But with the trends in hosting, servers and availability that there are, it will most likely go down (as has been the trend so far).
I took advantage of the domain name included with a hosting plan at no extra charge, will I still get this deal after the first year of hosting?
The inclusive domain registration of 1 year with the first year of the hosting plan does not carry forward for following and subsequent years. The normal cost of renewing the domain at the end fo the first year will be apllicable at the rate specified at the time. It is quite common for domain registration prices to fall each year, and we doubt very much that they would ever increase in cost. It is also possible to renew your domain name at any time prior to the end of the first year, and renewals can be for anything from one year to 9 years (maximum of 10 years registration all together).
Why do you use Paypal?
We hope that our customers will enjoy the use of a secure server during the transaction, as well as having a widely recognised third party's involvement in the transaction.
Can you accept any form of payment other than Paypal?
Yes we can. We can accept cheques (drawn on a UK bank), UK Postal Orders (or Fastpay or Nochex by special arrangement - these will become common payment options in due course). Please email us at billing for help with this - click here
How long will it be before my order is completed?
It can take up to 12 hours from purchase (although we usually complete this within the first hour- we use the 12 hour statement as a safeguard against errors/problems at the registry which is quite rare). During this time we verify your payment and process your order, your domain name will be registered and your web space, control panel and account will be set up. You are emailed to confirm receipt of payment, and then again to confirm the order and provide you with your account settings and information. Your domain will take 24 to 48 hours from registration for it to be shown as being yours (when viewing a 'whois' record - this time period is caused by the DNS updates being applied by root servers and is the same wherever you go for hosting), but you will be able to upload files and configure your hosting via the control panel as soon as the account is activated.
How long will it be before my account is activated?
It can take up to 12 hours from placing your order (although we usually complete this within the first hour - we use the 12 hour statement as a safeguard against errors/problems at the registry which is quite rare).
When will my web site be visible on the internet?
It can take 24 to 48 hours for the DNS to resolve (so that anyone who types your web address into their browser actually arrives at your site). However, you will be able to see your web site before the DNS resolves by using a unique URL which we will provide with your account details.
I already have a domain to host, what do I have to do to get it hosted on my new account?
You can host any existing domain on your account. You will need to change the domain's nameservers to our own nameservers so that requests for your webn pages are directed to our servers. You will be advised of which nameservers to use in our account activation email (normally sent to you just after your receipt for payment is sent).
